What better way to celebrate the holidays than with a trio of British luxury cars powered by supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engines? A new commercial from Jaguar highlights the go-fast XKR-S, XFR, and XJL Supersport driving through rural and urban landscapes, then drifting around an industrial park.
If you need some refreshment on Jaguar’s most powerful products, read on: in the 2012 XKR-S, the supercharged V-8 churns out 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque, allowing the aggressive coupe to reach 186 mph and to hit 60 mph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. Pricing for the XKR-S coupe starts at $132,875 (including an $875 destination charge).
The commercial also highlights the XFR, the go-fast version of Jaguar’s XF sedan. Its supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 produces 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque, enough to rocket the five-passenger sedan to 60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The 2012 XFR starts at $82,875.
Finally, the XJL Supersport represents the most powerful version of Jaguar’s long-wheelbase XJ luxury sedan. Like the XFR, its engine is rated for 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque; the car’s maximum speed is limited to 155 mph, and it can reach 60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds.
